Serge Bloch is a contributing illustrator to several US publications, including The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, Time Magazine, GQ, The Los Angeles Times, Bloomberg, Scholastic, National Geographic Magazine and France Amerique: "A page of newspaper is like a wall of a gallery that hundreds of thousands of people can visit without being afraid to enter. You can be on a train, in bed or on a bench in the sun. But the exhibit is ephemeral because the following day, it's gone. It's become a piece of paper used to dry your boots or to peel vegetables". Serge enjoys doing humorous work, and refers to it as a work of modest art.

For his first Art show, Serge Bloch will exhibit his personal drawings, series of personages such as the "Tattooed": "The character is always at the center of my work. I don't know why he's usually alone, sometimes as part of a couple. The character has invaded all my work. He's the heart, often a face without eyes, and yet very expressive, very present. He's quiet, sometimes smiling, sometimes sulking. I often draw women with hats. New York is the land of the hat - New Yorkers wear all kinds of hats, whereas in France, we have lost our good old beret."

Serge won a gold medal from the Society of Illustrators 47th Annual Exhibition in 2005, the Baobab Award for Best Children Book of the year in France in 2006, as well as the Bologna Ragazzi Award in 2007.
